Rekindling Your Romance This Valentine’s Day

Rekindling Your Romance
Valentine’s Day is the ideal opportunity to remind your partner how much they mean to you
If you’ve been in a relationship for a while, you’ll have noticed how easily you slip from passion and romance into settled everyday life. A celebration like Valentine’s Day is a great time to remind yourselves why you got together in the first place. Valentine’s treats are becoming expensive, but you don’t need to spend a fortune to show how you feel – a little thoughtfulness and creativity can go a long way. Try some of these in the run-up to February 14th:

Come home with a treat for you both – a good movie, a box of chocolates or a trip out to the nearest pizza restaurant. Unexpected gestures are good for everyone and give you a chance to tell your partner why they’re important to you.

Love Notes

It might sound corny, but leaving a note under a coffee cup or stuck to the bathroom mirror to say how much you love someone takes no time at all and always brings a smile to their face. If they travel a lot, put a note or a card in their suitcase, so it’s the first thing they see when they unpack. If they leave for work before you in the morning, put a note in their car the night before. It doesn’t have to be often, but it’s one of those things that’s as good to give as it is to receive.

In our opinion, hugs are severely under-rated. It’s amazing how little we hug and kiss once we’re in an established relationship. Make the time to show each other and those around you how great you feel when you’re together.

Couples often say that when they’ve been together for a while, they can tell what the other person’s thinking and they don’t need to talk. In fact, the longer you’re together, the more important it is that you find time to talk. Busy lives mean that you can’t spend hours discussing deep thoughts, but you can take the time to ask how your partner is feeling and what their opinions are on various topics – things that affect your relationship as well as general topics of conversation. Make time to talk.

Valentine’s Day may be just around the corner, but you can make your partner feel special on any day of the year.
